Performance coaching:
Other areas I focus on are performance skills, like playing with others, Singing, listening to a band sound and learning how to support that, stage fright, staying in tune, smiling, talking with your audience and learning how to market yourself , (if your goals are to expand your public impression.)
I have experience with Bluegrass , Classical, Ragtime, Blues and Jazz finger-style, and some Old Time, as well as Scruggs style, Melodic style, and Single string. I enjoy a wide range of music that starts with Scruggs style, and using those techniques to play Bluegrass, Country, Americana, Blues, Pop/ Rock /Jazz standards, as well as many years performing with live bands and on recordings.
I have taught students from 8 to 80 years old. I am sensitive to learning needs and extremely patient.

I offer 1 hour private lessons in Santa Cruz, at Sylvan Music. Whether you want to just sit and pick out some chords and tunes, or learn some classic Earl Scruggs and get into playing with others, that is a blast!
